What did the bookstore look like when you were young? Is it small, crowded and messy? Nowadays, the business model of most bookstores is changing with each passing day such as Eslite and Kingstone. They are the compound bookstore that provides afternoon tea or dinner. Within the spacious space and comfortable experience that makes you want to stay there all day. Personally, TSUTAYA bookstore is the most beautiful and inspirational bookstore in Taichung.
TSUTAYA bookstore is located in Taichung’s 7th Redevelopment Zone. Surrounded by the high-class residential district, department store and National Taichung Theater. It has my favorite decoration of Scandi Design. When I walk into the bookstore, I can see an open layout space with a French windows view. The other side is a large and breathtaking book wall. The faint book fragrance in the air. When sunshine comes through the window that lovely scenery just makes me wanna stay there forever.

There are a variety of exclusive publications in TSUTAYA bookstore. Many Japanese magazines and books that are not available in other bookstores but can be found here. I can always get inspiration from TSUTAYA bookstore when I have no idea what to do. Every weekend I will go TSUTAYA bookstore to stay all afternoon. Usually, I’d like to order a Latte then sit on the sofa in front of the window and start reading. TSUTAYA bookstore always brings me peace and satisfaction of mind. That is a great pleasure for me to end the week.

I completely agree with Muneaki Masuda (The founder of TSUTAYA bookstore) saying. “We want to create value, not just open a bookstore.” In today’s rapidly changing society you can’t be successful if you don't innovate. Meanwhile, the bookstore is not just a bookstore, it is the most precious cultural asset in a country. I sincerely hope that the TSUTAYA bookstore can sustainable development to provide us with more diverse cultural information. From my own experience, TSUTAYA bookstore is the most generous and fantastic bookstore in Taichung.
